Ethikoros is Dan Blinn’s blog on humanism and ethics. The title is a play on “Ethics” and “Epikoros”. Epikoros is a Jewish term meaning someone who denies divine providence, and it is derived from the name of the Greek philosopher, Epicurus.
Epicurus taught that nothing should be believed except that which which can be tested through direct observation and logical deduction. He also taught that “it is impossible to live a pleasant life without living wisely and well and justly, and it is impossible to live wisely and well and justly without living a pleasant life.”
Dan Blinn is a lawyer dedicated to helping consumers who have been harmed by illegal or unethical business practices. He is active in humanist and secular causes.
